Dear Barbara, Sandra and Ms. Pearl,

I was so sorry to read about the death of Miss Ruby. I remember her when I was a little girl but also from Seminole where she and Ms. Pearl worked with me. Their names came across my desk so often and it seems like yesterday that I saw those smiling faces. She was so loved.

With love, sympathy and prayers,

Sandra, we are so sorry to hear about your precious mother. Gwen and your mother are having a grand reunion! "The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." (Isaiah 51:11)

For some reason I was drawn to go on line to look @ Augusta Chronicle. I was totally shocked to find Ruby Pitts Smith "Granny" had died. I grew up loving her as my Granny. Her daughter Barbara is my aunt. She is married to my uncle Bobby. As a child I loved going to Grannys house. She was so loving,Her heart so kind & big. She accepted everyone with open arms & loved them unconditionally. After my move to Fitzgerald & the death of my grandparents, family lost connection I guess. I will always...

Granny had another son- Winfred Pitts. We called him "Uncle Wink". He passed away many years ago, after my father. He loved and adored his mother. Unfortunately I didn't include him in my first entry. He should be remembered also, as her son.

Ruby Smith was my grandmother. Her son Robert Ray Pitts was my father. He preceded her in death many years ago, 1976. She is loved by all the members of my family- My mother, Linda and sister Amie have taken care of her and Smitty for many years until she went to live with her daughter about two years ago. My sister Debbie also loved her. Granny was a wonderful lady who worked hard all her life. Her husband, Smitty (Everette Smith)died just a few months ago and he deeply loved her too. The...
