Ruby Jane Rusoe Smith

Ruby Jane Rusoe Smith, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born October 25, 1945, in Tupelo, to S.T. and Ruby Underwood Rusoe. She was a home maker and enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She loved spending as much time as she could at their cabin.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at the Mantachie Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Carr and Rev. Caleb Holder officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Cathy Pollock (John), Larry Smith, Billy Joe Smith (Janice), and Roger Smith (Mary); one sister, Geneva Malone of Mantachie; thirteen grandchildren, Victoria Farquhar, Bartlet Pollock, Bridgett Capps, Matthew Smith, Jeremy Smith, Kellie Hunt, Victoria Eldridge, Seth Smith, Mason Smith, Hannah White, Katelyn Smith, Jorda Hoard, Laken Marie Sanders; eight great grandchildren; numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy Junior Smith; one daughter, Barbara Taylor Luker; one brother, Richard “Beaver” Rusoe; one great grandchild, Ava Hunt; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” Jane Smith; one brother-in-law, Joe Malone; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Bartlett Pollock, Justin Farquhar, Seth Smith, Mason Smith, Ben Riley Eldridge, Justin Hunt, and Sid White.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time, all at the Mantachie Methodist Church.
