RUBY TILLMAN Obituary

RUBY MAE TILLMAN Ruby Mae Tillman, 65, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 9, 2012. She was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Georgia, to John H. and Mae Bill Williamson. Ruby Mae proudly worked as a registered nurse at University Medical Center for 37 years. She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Williamson. Ruby is survived by her loving husband, of 45 years, William; son, Harold M. (Marife) Tillman; daughters, Necretia J. (Bogel G.) Bastian, Nicole D. Tillman and Nefertari E. (Anthony B.) Nickerson; 12 grandchildren, with one on the way; mother, Mae Belle Williamson; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Mountain View Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6001 W. Oakey Blvd. Graveside services following, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City.

To my dear Uncle Harold and family, Aunt Ruby will truly be missed. Her warm and friendly smile and love for her family far and near. She will never be forgotton. I remember when she and Uncle Harold came down to Fla to visit they both would come by each brothers house, it was a blessin to see them. She was always happy to see all of us. It is a blessing to know she was a child of god. Love and prayers to my uncle. Your neice, Avanel Tillman-Wells,Homestead Fla, Sweet sleep Aunt Ruby.

Dear Tillman Family, we only got to meet Ruby through her illness, but this gave us the opportunity to get to know an amazing woman through the eyes, the love and the care of an extraordinary husband and friend of 45 years, Bill and her beautiful children. When I think of the first time meeting Ruby in 7th grade at Mays High, I can recall the bright, warm smile that was her personality. Honored to be a part of her graduating class of 1964, and I have a special place in my heart as the prayers go out to her family and loved ones during this solemn occasion. Dearest Tillman family, I was honored to know Ruby. A woman who enjoyed everything life had to offer. She loved her family to the fullest. Being a Loving wife, caring Mother and Grandmother. There were times I made her mad, but had a heart of forgiveness. To hear her jokes and her laugh would make anybody having a bad day make them smile and laugh with her. I knew her for a short time and time spent with her was a time to make me smile. A strong woman of Faith. Loving the Lord with all her heart! Bill and Family,
Ruby was a very quiet person but the courage she showed during the last 7 month of her life spoke loud and clear of her faith in God,her love of family and her long suffering courageous stamina. It was a privilege to get to know her during this most difficult time of life and she has caused me to consider every moment of life a gift from heaven.
