Not sure what to say?

Ruby and I met at First United Methodist Church,New Orleans,LA. in the early 70's. I have never known anyone so kind and caring. Our two daughters thought of her as a third grandmother as did so many of the children when we all attended Gretna United Methodist Church. She inspired us with her gentle and loving ways. What an amazing influence she had on our two daughters. As a mutual friend, Lillian Lester, said of Ruby -"she was the Mother Theresa of Gretna". Ruby will live on in our...

Ruby was a godly woman and an inspiration. I remember making hospital visits with her and being so moved by her sincere prayers. The challenges of her life made her stronger and more sure of God's care. She will be missed.

Ruby helped to raise my sister and I in so many ways. She was so loving. She wrote me for years and was such a source of encouragement to me in my life. Ruby truly was a Christian saint among us.

Ruby corresponded with me for many years. She was a very dear person.

Ruby has been one of my dearest friends since I met her at Gretna United Methodist Church in 1982. Her prayers, support, and love have sustained me through some very challenging times. Ruby's generosity, humility, gentleness, love, compassion, and devotion to her Heavenly Father and to her fellow man were evident to all her met her. What a blessing to have had her in my life!

I have always considered Grandma Ruby my adoptive Grandmother. She was an Angel on earth and now heaven has gained a very special Angel indeed! My greatest memories of Grandma is her reading Bible passages on Christmas Day - such special memories.

She was an amazing woman with unwavering faith and a role model for us all. I will always remember her with great love and fondness.

I know she is rejoycing as she reunites with all of her loved ones that have passed....

Aunt Ruby was a wonderful person. I have great memories of speaking with her about her childhood and what her father, my grandfather, was like. I will truly miss her, but her memory will always remain in my heart.

Dearest family members,
In 1963 I was introduced for the firt time to Ruby by her beloved son, Edwin. Her gentle words and warm smile were kind and welcoming. But then that was Ruby's way. The love of her Lord exuded from her life and both touched and challenged those around her. While I share your grief at the loss of such an integral part of your family, I rejoice for Ruby; for great is her reward in heaven with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
All my love and prayers,
Joya Mequet...

Ruby was a dear friend when my family attended Gretna United Methodist Church. She baby-sat my daughter Becky when I worked part-time. I will always remember her as a model of a Christian woman.
