Ruby Mae Cox Walker, 84, wife of the late Albert Ray Walker, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Baptist Health Lexington.  Born Oct. 7, 1936 in Shelbyville, KY, Ruby was the daughter of the late Luther Wesley Cox and Daisy Bell Watts Cox. 


Along with her husband and parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond Lee Cox, Elvie Jewell Cox, Opal Jean McKee, Rachael Yvonne Taylor, and Luther Ray Cox. 


A housewife, Ruby also worked on the family’s Walker Farm.  She enjoyed the outdoors, milking cows, working in tobacco and was known as a great “Fast Order Cook.”      


Ruby is survived by her children, Leonard Keith Walker and Steven W. Walker of Lawrenceburg, Jeffrey S. (wife Tracy) Walker and David A. (wife Deborah) Walker of Salvisa, Russell G. Walker of Harrodsburg, and Alberta Faye Walker (husband Mike) Carmickle of Lawrenceburg; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren. 


Private services will be held on Friday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. 


Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff, David, Steve, and Russell Walker, Tyler Wiles and Harold Ingram.

So very sorry. She raised a wonderful, hard working family. I know she will be missed terribly.

Was a beautiful, fun, sweet and incredible woman! Women like Ruby are hard to come by!!! Had not seen her in years but will always remember her. Our family always loved her and Albert!!!!

Our church is sending lot's of love and prayers of comfort for you all at this special time of loss. What a special lady! A mama, and a beautiful soul who was loved by all.
