Funeral for Ruby Nell Witt, 86, of Mount Hope will be today, Oct. 14, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Hicks and the Rev. Scottie Brackin officiating.
Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Witt, who died Sun day, Oct. 12, 2008, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, was born Feb. 27, 1922, in the Concord community to John Riggs and Irene Cameron Riggs. She was a home maker. She was a member of Okalona Baptist Church in Hatton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Rex Whitt; one brother, Johnny Riggs; and four sisters, Mae Fretwell, Earline Fretwell, Lorene Counts and Carrolee Riggs. She is survived by one son, Jeron Witt and his wife, Judy, of Mount Hope; three grandchildren, Todd Witt, Jody Witt and Holly Vest and her husband, Jon, all of Decatur; four great grand children, Abby and Ali Vest and Ella and Hayden Witt; two sisters, Faye Hicks and her husband, Walter, and Jeanette Lovett, both of Hatton; and special friends and caretakers, Jean Fike and Gayla Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Roger Counts, Kenneth Counts, Dexter Lovett, John Lavert Riggs, Braxton Craig and J.C. Goodwin.
