Not sure what to say?

Rud, I am sure going to miss you. Your warm smile and incessant jokes kept myself and my husband going back for more. And those flaming desserts were a plus.

Rudi and Paul were my next door roommates in our junior year at BC. Both Rudi and Paul are great guys to have known. I am smiling in remembrance of some the antics we collectively pulled. Paul, I believe you married Rudi's sister. He boasted about the last time I saw him at the Student Prince years ago. Paul, with that in mind, please accept my sincere sympathy and extend to Rudi's sister. Thanks "Weasel", Ken "Gapper" Gorman

So, so sorry to hear of Rudi's death. I played tenor sax with him in the BC Band, and Rudi was a laugh a minute. Later, when my sister was living in Springfield, we would often have dinner at The Student Prince. Being a history buff, I was fascinated when he told me his dad actually served Hitler when he was a young waiter in Munich during the 1930's. Rudi was one of a kind, and stands out among the many people I remember from my years at BC. He will be missed.

Our deepest condolences go out to Bonnie and the whole Scherff family. Times spent at The Fort were always enjoyable - and memorable thanks to Rudi. He will be missed.

Rudi, for decades, yours was the welcome I looked forward to when returning to Springfield to commemorate a holiday or special occasion. It didn´t matter where in the world I was living, the anticipation of walking through your doors and into the warmth that you created was a feeling I´ll treasure, always. Thank you for giving this feeling and those memories to me and so many others. Sending my deepest condolences to your family: may Rudi´s memory be a blessing and may the joy he brought...

So sorry, prayers sent with love.

It´s with great sadness I saw the passing of Rudi. I have many fond memories of he time I´ve been in his company over more than 40 years. Billy

Bonnie and family our deepest condolences for your loss of Rudi. Had great times together at The Fort and in Germany Oktoberfest. I know he will be deeply missed by all. Rest In Peace Rudi.

I am so sorry to hear of Rudi´s passing. I was a classmate at Cathedral. I always enjoyed his sharp wit and admired his intelligence.
