Read MoreMany years ago in the mid 70s, I met Dr Hanel while working at Texas Instruments on the IRIS experiment on Voyager. He seemed very humble and was very keen to work with the team. He always took time to explain what it was we were trying to do even though our question probably seemed really dumb. I feel very lucky to have met and interacted with such a brilliant scientist. My condolences to his extended family.

My condolences to Iduna and family. Mr Hanel was a great man and contributed so much scientifically to society and was a beloved family man I considered it a great honor to have met and talked with Rudy on a few occasions. My thoughts and prayers to Iduna, Ina & Michael & family.

We met very briefly when my Grandfather his roommate at the Evangelical Home in Saline. From what I've read he sounded like an amazing man, I am very sorry for your loss.
