Rudolph D Basilone Jr., 64, died peacefully at home on December 6th surrounded by his loving family. Rudy was born in Springfield, the son of the late Rudolph and Constance (Toczko) Basilone Sr. and has lived in West Springfield all his life. He worked as an appraiser for Aetna, Crawford & Company and Southern Auto Auction. He leaves his devoted and loving wife of 30 years, Karen (Maher) Basilone, his son Ryan and soon to be daughter-in-law Jill, along with his beautiful daughter Alina. He also leaves behind his adoring “lil sis”, Lori Basilone and brother, Michael Basilone along with his nieces, nephew and entire extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Rudy was predeceased by his sister, Karen Basilone. Rudy loved everything about cars. If you knew him, you knew how he cared for his special vehicles. He recently restored and enjoyed showing off his favorite car, his Mazda Cosmo. Whether it was sitting out back listening to The Beatles, or enjoying new adventures with his family, Rudy was always known for his positive “doing great!” attitude. His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kirtani and all of the oncology nurses at Sister Caritas Cancer Center; Rudy truly loved each one of you for your one-of-a-kind care. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12th at noon followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Thursday from 10:30am – Noon. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
