Not sure what to say?

Professor Haffner was a wonderful teacher. Just seeing this photo brings back so many great memories.

Professor Hafner was one of my favorite professors at HCW. I was thrilled when he popped into our wedding reception held on campus to say hello. I only wish I had known he was born in Torun as my dad was as well.
Professor Hafner brought a lot of light into our lives as he pointed us on our way.

Professor Haffner was always one of my favourite professors he always challenged me and took me under his wing teaching me to develop film and learn about salt marshes. He was always up for a challenge and gave so much to his students. Thank you for all the memories Rudi from all the students you gave so much to. Trisha McElroy HCW '74

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. And may the God of all comfort bring you peace during this hard time (Psalms 55: 22).

Thanks to Prof. Haffner for having us memorize the name of every tree on the HCW campus in the 1970s, and the many species of insects' binomial names. I remember them to this day, and can amaze (or annoy) my friends and family with all the wonders I learned in his classes.(HCW '77)

I had the pleasure of being one of his students at Hartford College For Women.
So sorry for your loss.

To the Haffner family, my deepest sympathy. I so enjoyed getting to know Dr Haffner during his visits to the dental office in Simsbury. Such a talented wood carver. I also remember the day he and Jeanne brought in the beautiful bow tie quilt that his daughter had made. He smiled such a big proud smile. A wonderful man and a wonderful couple.

Sincerely,
Merle Wilcox

Peter and family,
Your Dad was a favorite professor of mine while at HCW. Many fond memories of dissecting a pig as well as doing genetics problems. He truly was an inspirational teacher.
Celebrating his life. Condolences to the family.
