Morris, I´m so sorry for your loss. I just found this. Hope to see you at Class Reunion.

I noticed Mr. Rufus Davenport in past obits when checking on someone else. He was a good man who raised a wonderful family in Hesperia. I was in school with his son Morris and although Morris was younger, we were band mates. I have great respect for this strong family. They were an asset to our little home town. Rest in peace .

Annie, I learned of this far after it happened. My heart goes out to you and your children. Rufus and I had a rough start working together. But, once we found the common beliefs we held we did fabulously. He was a wonderful leader!

I grew up with the Davenport children, and my parents were lifelong friends of the Davenport family. Rufus and Lois were kind and respected people that instilled values in the youth and community. May God welcome home a humble servant and comfort those who await their reunion.
