Rupert "Ray" Short Jr.

Rupert "Ray" Short, Jr., age 78, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, February 4, 2007.

He was born on December 18, 1928 at Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Rupert A. Short, Sr. and Ardenia Birchfield Short. On March 11, 1970, he was married to Elizabeth Osborne. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roy Short and Jimmy Short.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union #105 for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Short of Hot Springs; his son, Larry Short of Los Angeles, California; three daughters, Marsha Dalgity, Donna Dalgity, and Nancy Vickers all of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren; and three brothers, Jerry Short of Los Angeles, California, Kenny Short of San Francisco, California, and Wayne Short of Concord, North Carolina.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2007 in the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Glenwood with Pastor Woody Larson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening.
