Rushford K. Fleshman Jr. Rushford K. Fleshman Jr., 83, of Spotsylvania County died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Fleshman ("Rookie") enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family. Rookie, who was the son of Rushford K. Fleshman, Sr., and Nellie Katherine, lived in Covington, Virginia, before moving to Woodbridge, Virginia, to raise his family. He purchased a house and had it moved to his property along the Occoquan River where the family lived. He graduated from Virginia Tech and later managed companies for, Bath County, Prince William County, Hylton Enterprises, and Cable Television before retiring. He was also a business owner, investor, and enterpriser. He could be counted on to be honest and fair. Survivors include his son, Rushford Fleshman III of Nokesville; two daughters, Mollie Goodman of Spotsylvania and Robin McGuire of Culpeper; and five grandchildren, Rushford IV, Abbey, Sam, Carolyn and Jenna; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Fleshman. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 13 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 14 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington. Robin, Rush and Molly - so sorry to hear your dad has passed away. I hadn't seen him in such a very long time so this picture just warmed my heart. I remember your Dad being a really fun fellow. Great memories!

Seems like it was just a few years ago and we all were water skiing to Robinson Crab House. Much love to all and you are all in my prayers.

Memories came flooding back when I saw where Rookie had passed.How lucky we were to have such a blessed childhood on Fudge St.You are all in my thoughts & prayers.Your Dad was a fine man...my heartfelt condolences...
