“May you take comfort in knowing there is one more angel above us.” – author Unknown

You had the best. Russ was a kind man and a Godsend to Ruth. Upon meeting Russ I knew why. I am so sorry that his life was cut short and your plans together after retirement never came to fruition. The journey will continue when you once again come together in heaven. I am truly sorry and will keep you in my prayers.

Surely Russ is singing in the heavenly choir! He will be missed at GUMC. Sending heartfelt sympathy and prayers to Susan and family. May you feel God holding you close.

Since the day we are born, we are taught what family means and who belongs to "our" family. And although it might seem an easy concept, we soon realize that family is so much more than the people you live with. The people you love, those who are always there for you, those whoo ask questions and listen to the answers, those who open their house when you most need it, those who open their arms and mind and help you go through beautiful and hard times equally. Family is this and so much...

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Russ and I stood together in the choir at Gresham United Methodist Church. He had a very good voice and was accurate with the music. Beyond that he loved to sing and made us all sing better. We miss his voice of praise.

Sending our love and condolences to your family.

Hi Susan and family, Just happened to go through the paper today and was heartbroken to see Russ’ picture in the Obituary section. I had no idea. What a loss for you and so many others. Every time our paths crossed during CHIP and every time thereafter, I was always so blessed by his smile, his warm greeting and gentleness. Just seeing his pix brings back brief, but precious memories. It is my prayer that your great grief will be tempered by the hope and faith that not only does he rest...

I have know Russ for 60 years and I have always been impressed by his good nature, great humor and rock solid resolve. I knew if Russ started a conversation with “I’ve been looking at this car”, a trip to a car lot was in my future. I will miss our discussions about cars, history and our families. His love and devotion for his wife, children granddaughter is undisputable. I wish I could share again another pot of coffee with him because of course, he could always go for a cup of coffee! ...

Went to school 5-8th grades with Russ.
So sorry for your loss.
