There are no words in this language or any other to capture the nobility, spirit, and very person of the one and only Dr. Russel Pardoe M.D., nor to capture how much he is now missed. From Eureka to Australia and many ports in between, his loss is truly felt around the world. Known as Russ or...

Not sure what to say?

Doctor Pardoe performed surgery me nearly 40 years ago, when I was a teenager. He made a special connection with me, and I knew he personally cared about me and that I was in the best hands. There was a chance it could be cancer, but he explained it all to me in a way that really eased my mind. He had such a sense of humor, he asked me in the operating room if I wanted my incision to be in the shape of an "S" for my first name. Fortunately, my story had a happy ending, but I always...

I met Russel when I arrived at HSU as a young, academic dean. We were on several boards together and I admired his intelligence and thoughtfulness. Russ and Silvija hosted many beautiful dinners and parties at their lovely home. My husband and I felt so included in their family and loved watching their boys grow into amazing young men. He was so supportive of my career and encouraged me as I juggled my professional life as a young mother. Russ and Silvija were such good role models as a...

He performed surgery for on my back when i was a young woman. Fresh from college and then told she had cancer. Dr Pardoe was incredibly kind and gentle and I felt so safe with him. I was just telling my friend about his Antarctica story ... It's a good story... And I found this very well written obituary. I'm sorry for his families loss and his friends- I only knew him for a short time as a patient but I know he was amazing. He clearly had a great life and touched the world in the most...

This is a picture of my beautiful daugher today.

So sad to hear of his passing. Some 40 years ago I met this man who saved my daughters life and reconstructed her face. She was only 6 years old and we were hit head on by another driver. She hit the dash as a result of the impact. She was rushed to Alexian Brothers Hospital as it was the closest to the accident. However, they soon realized they wouldn't be able to help her and she was transported to Valley Med and into the hands of Dr. Pardoe. He made me feel confident that she would recover...

You are so right Kelly. So lucky are we who enjoyed his loving care. We were lucky to get a replacement who shows his caring graciously also. Lila

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr Pardoe in the fall of 1998 after I was involved in an accident at work. That was actually the second time that I had heard of him, when I was a child I remember my mother reading of his arctic operation. When I met this gentleman I was struck as I'm sure so many others were by his warm and caring personality. The world is a much more hollow and cold place without him.

Dr. Pardoe was simply the most decent human being I've ever had the honor of knowing.

Dirk. and Ria van Velden are visiting our son Anthon in Brisbane. We searched the web to try to make contact with the Pardoes. With regret we then came across Ross,s obituary. We can but express our sincerest condolences with Silvija anid the family. It seems such a short while since we met in East Aurora. We shall be returnig to South Africa coming Tuesday 15th.

Dearest Anton,
I remember you well from EHS. We graduated the same year and I was a silent admirer, as i told your mom today, of your poise, humility, intellect and well, very handsome looks.
Today was Kate's birthday and my daughter and your lovely niece are classmates. I spent a good part of the party talking with your beautiful mother who told me to go on to the net to read your eloquent and heartfelt farewell to your papa. My tears flowed as I read it. You write...
