Not sure what to say?

I send my condolences to all the friends and family. He was a kind and wonderfully talented man.

I remember Russ from grade school at Sacajawea. Lots of fond memories of (Buddy) Fast. I lived just around the block from him. We played on the same little league team together snd my parents knew his mom very well too. I think it was sixth grade he and I were on the stage together. He dressed all in black doing a pantomime and I was singing Swing low Sweet chariot to a girl sitting in a swing. He was a good baseball player and a fast runner. Until we meet again Buddy!! Thanks for the memories,

rest in peace Russ.

Here's the second article I have pasted in my scrapbook about Russ.

I was in junior drama at Grant when Russ was a senior. I knew him but not well because we were in different drama classes of Mrs. Foster.
What I do remember is that Russ was a very good actor and in my view "an all around nice guy"! We didn't associate outside of school but we were in a few plays together.
As a kid growing up in the '60's some of us kept scrapbooks. I started mine in 8th grade and kept adding bits and pieces until I graduated high school. I've attached a few photos...

Knew him as Buddy when we were kids living in NE Portland off 82nd and Alberta. Great kid. Lost track of him when he moved but saw write ups in paper about his career. His brothers, Buddy, and I would "barrow" apples from a neighbor on 82nd and Alberta. Had some good times as kids.

I shared the stage at Slabtown with Russ for several years in the early 70's. I was always impressed by his ability to hold the stage in a variety of roles and performance venues. In those early years, Russ and I supported ourselves with small stipends from Slabtown and whatever handyman work we could scrape together, always keeping our focus on the current or coming show. Thinking of him brings back sweet memories of Journey's End, Caretaker, Catch 22, All the Way Home, The Time of Your...

I was a freshman at Grant when Russ was a senior. And of course, he was in all the theater productions at school. I didn't get to know him until the 70's when he and B.Joe Medley and Jeannie Medley started Character Actors which I joined, and by then I saw him quite often around the Character Actor office. I remember doing a scene with him at an acting workshop and I was terrified because he was the professional and I was a beginner, but he put me at ease. My heartfelt sympathies to his...
