Russell D. Geldersma

I feel privileged to be a neighbor of Russ and Sephanie's for the past 28 yrs. When I heard of Russ' passing I immediately thought of the many times he has been there for me and my family over the years I hoped I expressed enough thanks for him being there. Russ cut down a huge tree in my yard using a boom, he helped and showed me how to shingle my buildings, he guided me with tips on growing tomatoes, he built my pole barn with me and patiently guided the dos and don'ts while I fumbled...

Russ was, like his folks, a great person. We live in the house Bill and Lois bought in 1944 and my wife Julie and I in 88. Either when he would stop by or I would see him at the Legion he always had a kind word and a smile. You will be missed Russ.

So many memories of coming to your house as a kid. Then as is the way of life, we grow up and our lives change...marriage, jobs, children take over. The family get togethers of childhood days become meet ups at funerals, or the visitations. My very best time spent with my cousin 'Rusty' was at one such event for our cousin Ronnie. It was between two adults reliving days spent together from days past, and catching up/learning more in depth where life had taken us. We exchanged phone numbers...

When Russ would come into the coffee shop, we all enjoyed the stories of Vietnam, building things and his younger escapades.
