He was one of the most interesting human beings I’ve know . I continue to enjoy my collection of his prints and drawings.
You made it Russell! You became everything you wanted to be. You are missed.

My husband and I were good friends of Russell’s in Philadelphia in the 60’s and 70’s. We are now moving and have several of his large lithographs that need a home. Anyone interested please contact [email protected]

Met Russell in the early '80s. Showed his work in Miami and he visited with me and my husband Robert Huff here. Took him out into the Everglades for a beautiful trips. We went to Canada and stayed with him.. And hung out with him at Lakeside. Hope that if there is a Heaven, he and Bob have studios close to each other. He was a complicated man, but we had some wonderful times with him

Russell and I grew up on the streets of North Philly together,laughed together,enjoyed jazz together,and played basket ball together. We were among the few who escaped those "Mean Streets". RIP BROTHER

Russell was a dear friend in Philadelphia many years ago. Our son, Russell Gold ( now 42) is named for him. We honeymooned at Stonington 48 years ago because he had told us how beautiful it was. We lost touch when he moved to Canada, but thought of him often when we looked at the many pictures by him that hang in our house.

So Sorry I never made it to Montreal to visit with Russell who I met in the late 1960's. He will be truly missed. Mildred Howard

Russell will be so terribly missed by his many friends all over the world. We didn't all know each other, but we all had a link through this wonderful and complicated man. I am grateful for over 40 years of friendship.
