Dear Holly and Brian, Your father was such a special man, and he was so proud of both of you. He did so much for the community and everyone around him. He was taken much too young, and he will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy to both of you and all the Gow family. Cherish the wonderful memories you made with him, because he loved you very much.

I am truly sorry for the loss you are feeling now. Take your strength from family and friends. I will always remember Russ as a kind and gentle man that I always shared a laugh with each time I saw him. He was proud of his family and spoke highly of each of you. The community will miss him each day. My prayers go out to each of you and to your family as a whole.

To Russell's family, I extend my condolences - Russ was "the real deal", one of those rarities who was firm but fair in his business transactions, but who let humor and compassion infiltrate his dealings with people. Russ meant a lot to me and my late husband, Wade, as well as our (also fire-fighter/EMT) children, and we will miss that ready laugh and good-natured ribbing. The world has become quieter at his exit, but Russ and his laughter will live on in our memories!
