Not sure what to say?

Please know that you are not forgotten my friend. Me and Max appreciated all you did for us at MSP Ionia. Thoughts & Prayers

russ drove me to kalamazoo when i appeared before my draft board to get conscientious objector status and was my witness in 1968. in the ann arbor bookstore i heard many say they'd never have been able to finish their dissertations if not for him. blessings from all.

Russ was a mentor to many, including me. I loved the guy. He was caring, sensitive, observant, and incredibly well read. He shaped my own life and world view, introducing me to great literature like Melville, Twain, Thoreau. He had his own ideas/preferences but did not impose them on others. If you want to know Russ, read Henry David Thoreau. I think Russ was probably the greatest man I personally knew in my life.

I just learned of Russ's passing and wished to send my condolences. When I was a young Trooper at Ionia, he always gave me and my K-9 partner Max plenty of ink in the Sentinel Standard. I considered him a kind man and friend.

Eternal Rest Grant To Him Oh LORD, And May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him. Rest in Peace, Russ!

Chuck Loader & Max

Sobered news, on this day, to hear of Russell's passing. He often comes to mind with appreciation for his unique view and brilliant mind.
Condolences to his family and to his home-town friends and those far and wide.
I believe he benefited many.

Was just reading some of the letters we exchanged over the years this evening when I discovered Russ had passed away. I'll always remember our discussions over many a Sunday dinner and the letters exchanged over the years. My condolences to his family and his many friends. He will be missed.

I was sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. My thoughts and prayers are with the Gregory families.
