Dear Haffner Family.....I am an Oak School classmate. Russ was one of the kindest person I have met. When I was down or didn't know how to do something in class he was always there to make me smile and to teach me something new. He made growing up a little better. Also, it is so nice for you all to know and see all he had accomplished in his life. All I can say is WAY TO GO RUSS!!!

Oh Russ....the world will miss you. Thinking of you puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh. You were so fun and funny. May your light be carried on by your beautiful family who so obviously adore you. MERCI POR LES SOUVENIRS! ~ Laney Sproat Pitt an old Oak School friend

Dear Haffners, I had the distinct pleasure to work with Russell at Cafe Provencal, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. His humor and tireless spirit made my time with him truly unique and unforgetable. Russ was generous with his time & knowledge, I learned a great deal from him. I will be forever grateful that I had the opportunity to know him and will always remember him in a manner that brings a smile to my face.

Dear Haffner family,
Russell Scott Haffner was a friend from Oak School in Hinsdale. I wish I could have seen your son after Cordon Bleu. My biggest thrill in life was meeting Julia Child. God Bless.
