Chicopee- Russell Edward Hunt, 76, passed away on July 25 at home with his family by his side.  Son of the late Ellsworth R. and Christine (Whitney) Hunt, Russell was born on September 4, 1945 in Greenfield.  He was a graduate of Greenfield High School and honorably served in the United States Navy.  He worked as a repair technician on small business machines becoming a master at fixing typewriters and copiers, working for Smith Corona, the former Hasting's Stationers in Chicopee Center and later owning Russ's  Office Machines.  Russell then went on to work for UPS in West Springfield where he was a tractor trailer mechanic.  Russell was able to fix anything and friends and family frequently reached out to him for assistance on projects.  Russell shared his love of woodworking by creating unique pieces of furniture that will be treasured by many for years to come.  In addition to his parents, Russell was predeceased by a daughter, Kristin LaCombe and by a brother Norman "Buzzy" Hunt.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Blanche (Kelley) Hunt, a daughter Annette Scarnici and her husband Christian; three grandchildren, Nicholas White and his wife Niki, Emily LaCombe and her significant other Matthew, and Amanda Cooper and her husband Cade, and three great-grandchildren; Chase, Elizabeth, and Capri.  Russell is also survived by a brother, Robert Hunt, a sister Carol Cobb and many nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside committal service, complete with military honors, will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 29, 2022 in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee.  Corridan Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  Memorial contributions in Russell's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - www.stjude.org  To share a memory or to leave your condolences for the family, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com
