My father, Charles Brown (Charlie) was friends of Russ thru the shop and at the Lion's 500 club. I remember him coming home from a fishing trip so impressed with what he caught using what Russ had sold him!

I started going into Lacques Sporting Goods when I was about 10 years old. I was always treated very well by Russ, Loren and Helen. I got my start in fly fishing and fly tying in the shop. I will always treasure my memories of their shop and of old Modesto. My sincere condolences to the family.

I HAD THE GOOD LUCK IN KNOWING RUSS WHEN HE OWNED THE GUN SHOP ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER LOREN. I ALWAYS STOPPED IN ON MY LUNCH TIME AND ASKED WHAT WAS NEW AND INQUIRED ABOUT CERTAIN THINGS.
