We got to know Russ during our days at Michigan State University and UBC in the late 80s and early 90s and we thank God for our friendship. He was really an icon of love. Ardith and family - may God be your comforter at this time of loss. Rest In Peace Russ. Albert & Margaret Mwangi(Tunis, Tunisia)

See you Russ, I will always be waiting for you to holler "four" when I'm out in the back yard hitting golf balls and I'll miss our chats on my carport this winter. Darryl

I am blessed to have known Russell and blessed by his faithfulness and work at University Baptist Church when I attended back in the '66-'70 years. Godly men like him are a living testimony to Christ and God's Kingdom. -continued prayers for Ardith and the family.

May Our Lord comfort you in your time of grieving. Thanks so much for sharing Russ with all that served on the board at the Student Center, he was a man of integrity and his own sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

best fourth grade teacher ever! i appreciated his humor, his integrity, and his respect for me as a learner. i never did keep my desk neatly though.

May God comfort you in this time of loss with many wonderful memories of a man who will certainly be missed. Sending out prayers for the entire family.

We were sorry to hear that Russ has passed on. He had a full and rich life, even after retirement. We could see how much he loved his family and grand children. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy. We are praying for you all, and hope to see you on Sunday. Much love to you from Iva, Steve and Emily Gier.
