Not sure what to say?

This Guy Tremendous. Laugh out loud funny on DJZ..

Thanks for making the Beatles concert all the more memorable. Historic day in Houston.

Obviously Russ has been gone for about 8 and a half years. I made a home made CD featuring some things I used from stock KLIF-Dallas radio in the early 60s, featuring the Weird Beard, as well as my daughter on tape when she was not quite 7. I am listening to it on 5/25/2021 as I type this. Russ was a real guy. Who knew? Thanks for your contributions to Dallas and American radio, Russell Lee Moore. Life can be a strange ride at times, as well as magical and wonderful. Your magical voice is...

So sorry to read about " the weird beard" passing a few years ago. ( I just got my 1 st smart phone and discovered that it has a wide variety of abilities) I grew up in Houston and listened to him all of the time ! He was a great radio d.j. !!! I'm 67 years old and have not heard any other radio personalities equal to THE WEIRD BEARD!!! He made the listener feel like he was their friend...important to teenagers ! Sympathies to his family and RIP, WEIRD BEARD !!!

Russ and I worked together at WDJZ in Bridgeport Ct and I later got him a morning show and PD gig at WELI Hamden Ct . HE WAS BY FAR ONE IF THE BEST IN THE BIZ . He hired me at WDJZ as Sales Manager and our partnership and bond went on for years. One morning he had a dentist appt and could not finish his show. Without any knowledge of a radio studio he sat me in the control room put me on the air and left! He told me I was the best Raw talent he had ever heard and gave me an on air shift to...

Russ will be missed by all. Jim and I are so blessed to have had the opportunity to have such a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deb and family during this difficult time.

I was in high school when he was at KLIF and I loved his show. Somehow I got the phone number to the DJ room (is it called the studio room?) & sometimes I'd call and he'd talk to me when the records were playing. I was thrilled that he would do that! I'll never forget The Weird Beard. He was truly one of a kind. To his family please accept my deepest sympathy.

Worked with Russ for many years at WDJZ in Bridgeport. He gave me my first shot in the business in 1983. He made me laugh everyday on and off the mic
RIP Weird Beard

Russ gave me start in radio in 1983 at WDJZ in Bridgeport and I will always be grateful. One of the great radio men ever and alot of laughs. RIP Weard Beard
