79th Birthday

This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it, or i can use it for good.
but what I do today is important,
because I'm exchanging a day out of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever,
leaving in its place that which I have traded.

I want it to be GAIN not LOSS,
GOOD, not EVIL,
SUCCESS, not FAILURE,
In order that I shall not regret that I have paid for it.

We were honored to have counted them as our good friends. We only got to know them a few years ago when Doug joined the Flushing group to attend MSU Downtown Coaches Club luncheons and various other activities. Their kindness and interest in others showed each time we saw them. Doug will especially miss your dad during all the men's activities and we will both miss your mother when there are activities for couples. It was such a blessing that they could both leave us together-our wish for...

I was fortunate enough to meet Russ before he left us. I take pride in being so fortunate enough to know him. He was a tremendous, giant of a man. In simply buying a vehicle from me, he left an indelible impression upon me. I think of him every day. He will be missed.

Ann and Russ, 1999

We got our love and zest for life from mom. In dad, we got a character with love and zest for life.
An amazing couple, 56 years of mutual love..............perfect.

Christmas 2007

Nancy, Jeff, Kerry, George, Tammie, Tom, Tom and Julie:
I have enjoyed Nance and Jeff's stories about your folks and particularly enjoyed your father's evolution, in my mind, from Mr. Mountz to Russ to Poppy. Your dad's love for all of you and his grandchildren is evident in each and every story. I know he will be greatly missed.

With sympathy,
