My first memory as a child eating at any restaurant, was at LaPizza House way back around 1972 or so. I can even remember the lines of folks waiting to walk in and get a seat back in the 70's-90's. From Russ to Gretchen to Trinni running the bar, I have so many fond memories. When I was a kid Russ would always give my brother and I those Dum Dum suckers, but only if we ate everything our parents told us to......which was very easy to do there. As an adult Russ always wanted to know how...

Russ and Abby were like father figures to a lot of teenagers, including myself back in the 70's. We had some great times at the old La Pizza House. You will be missed!

My condolences to Russ's family. Russ provided places that were the source of many memories. Whether it was the pizza, onion rings and salad or the 26 years bowling at Grand Lanes or the Softball Hall of Fame located at La Pizza House, the great times will be remembered. As Russ will be remembered also for being a kind, gentle, caring soul that now rests in peace. May God bless Russ and the family during this time of remembrance.

My condolences to Russ' family, especially his sister Carolyn. He was lucky to have such a caring, loving sister. I know he loved that you brought him pancakes too. I know you will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Russ was one of my favorite customers and friend since I sold him pizza boxes for over 25 years and my father since they opened La Pizza House. He was a kind gentle person with a big heart. He and Abby were very kind to me. Russ will forever be in my heart and prayers. I do believe Russ was one of the most successful pizza makers in the U.S.A. May God Bless his Soul. Rest in Peace my friend I will see you again. I'm sure your making pizza in Heaven for Jesus and my brother Paul.

Russ, mom and dad have went to La Pizza House for as long as i can remember. I cut my baby teeth on your ham and sausage pizza. Your onion rings were the best that i've ever had. I have known you practically my whole life, i just turned 59. Even, after i moved to the twin cities, i had to stop and get some pizza before heading back home. Thanks for coming to dads funeral. I will certainly try to make it to yours. You were a friend of the family. My condolences to your family and friends.
