Not sure what to say?

Russell was a friend, colleague, and superstar medical doctor. He was a mentor to me and numerous others. He was a good man in every aspect. It's difficult for me to grasp that he is gone. The world is worse off for his absence.

Russell came to mind today for some reason, so I did a Google search. I am sad to hear of his passing. The obituary was beautiful. I heard him lecturing a number of times and was acquainted with him through AADEP. He was a wonderful person.

My name is Madonna Cain. I just learned of the death of Dr. Travis. He saved my life, with God´s help, in February of 1985. He performed a craniotomy on me at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. I have often thought about him over the years. He told my husband, "I have done all I can. It is in God´s hands now" I have always believed that is why I am alive. I had been married for 5 months. I am working on 39 years now. I will always be thankful that a man like Russell Travis existed. He...

I worked with Dr Travis on the nuero step down unit at Good Sam in 1983-84, and also knew him from the switchboard. He was the epitome of perfection, but he also cared very deeply for his patients.one time he did surgery on a child, brain surgery which took hours, and stay in that child´s room all night watching him. Im so sorry for the families loss, he can never be replaced

Dr. Travis served as an expert in one of my cases. He was kind, whip smart, and always found a way to infuse our conversation with humor. He was also considerate. One time I had to meet him early before a deposition and he brought me breakfast from Chick-fil-A. No offense to other neurosurgeons I've worked with, but I have never met one who so smart and warm at the same time. He will be missed.

I remember Dr. Travis from medical school and residency at UK. He was competent and caring, and on my A-list for referrals.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are prayers are with his family.

I'm saddened to learn of Russell's passing. I have fond memories of him from my time at Cardinal Hill. Prayers for Jill and the family.

We send our deepest sympathy to this loving family. It has been a pleasure knowing Russell, and Jay will cherish his memories with such a wonderful soul. We enjoyed getting to know you all, and being allowed the privilege of making your farm a beautiful place for Russell, and all of the family to enjoy. Thoughts and prayers of comfort in the coming days. Your neighbor and friend, Jay & Tina Tackett
