Not sure what to say?

I had a dream that I was directing a play and I had cast Rusty in all of the parts, male and female. And in my dream I felt such a sense of relief because I knew I could trust Rusty to do honor to each role. He was an inspiration.

Rusty was the consummate actor. In real life he was shy, reserved and long suffering. Onstage, however, he filled his many characters with the living details hidden within his rich imagination. His skill was exemplary. I admired what Rusty brought to any play and was always eager to work with him in any endeavor I produced or directed. He was with the Hippodrome from its origins and will be missed by his colleagues and fans alike.

It was a privilege to work with and know him as a friend, and to now find Gainesville without him. It is my fervent hope that he, Michael Doyle and Michael Beistle are headlining together in heaven to sellout crowds. Goodbye, my Boy Next Door.

Kind, sincere, witty, loyal, talented, generous - an all around dynamite soul. It was a privilege to know Rusty, and I am a better person for it. Sincere condolences to his family.

He brought joy to many.
Rest in peace Rusty.

I have always enjoyed Rusty's wit and intelligent conversations. I will miss him greatly and am saddened that he is gone.
