It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ruth Ella Eadie Artiglere, who left us on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 103. Ruth was born on October 6, 1921, a daughter of Pressley and Carey Eadie.

Ruth lived a remarkable life dedicated to caring for others. A graduate of St. Francis Xavier Hospital Nursing School, in Charleston, SC, she went on to serve as a Nurse in the United States Navy. Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Artiglere; her son, Thomas H. Holt; and her grandson Todd K. Peterson.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Peterson; her grandson, Andrew Peterson (Jennifer); granddaughter, Cassandra Holt; great-granddaughters Emma and Pheobe; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, and her beloved dog, Fredo.

Not sure what to say?

Ruth was the most amazing, well put together lady I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was beautiful, extremely smart, and super witty. I met her at age 94 I am 45 years younger than Ruth and she blew me away. I will forever miss her. She was for sure unforgettable! RIH sweet lady.

Didn't know her, but her dad Presley was my grandfather Riley's brother. This makes her dad my great uncle and her my cousin. She and her dad lived a very long life. Wish I had known her!

My, how our lives were blessed with our sweet Aunt Ruthie Here´s to porch parties, lunch dates, book club, crossword puzzles, and all the things that made our time together TIME WELL SPENT.

Ms. Ruth will be missed. The sweetest human ever.

Greetings and condolences to the family of Ruth. You don't know me & I did not know Ruth but she was a Navy Nurse and so was I. I am a member of the local Chapter of the Navy Nurse Corps Association and many of us saw the obit in the paper and remember well that uniform which was worn by 2 of our other 100 yr+ members. I think I can say for all of us a belated Thank you for her service. I am sorry we never got to know her in person. We would love to connect with you Jane. I will leave...

A Grand Celebration

A Grand Celebration

Ms Ruth was a special lady and I was so grateful to have known her. Even though our friendship was short she and Fredo made lasting memories for me. She contacted me to walk her dog last year when her knee was bothering her. She said it would be temporary as she was going to the orthopedic doctor and it would get better. I had my doubts... but oh did she prove me wrong! In about 9 days ... she said she was ready to walk him again. I was actually almost in tears ... so I asked if I could come...

Cheers!

I worked for Ruth and Joe when they lived on Kiawah Island many years ago! Absolutely delightful people and great friends too. Prayers ascending for God's Peace. - John Ballentine
