Not sure what to say?

I got to know Ruth through Newcomb Alumnae activities and became very fond of her. At the time I was serving as the Newcomb Alumnae Director and always thought of Ruth as one of our distinguished alumnae. She was so kind, humble and unassuming, yet she had accomplished so much and changed people's lives forever, particularly women. What a role model! We will miss her very much.

I got to know Ruth some years ago through Newcomb College alumnae activities & was very fond of her. She was so kind, humble & unassuming, yet she had accomplished so much. At the time I was serving as the Newcomb Alumnae Director and we always thought of her as one of our most accomplished alumnae. What a role model! We will miss her very much.

Ruth was a wonderful and vibrant Newcomb College alumna. She shared many of her stories of her education back in the day with me when I was alumnae director at Newcomb. Always modest about her accomplishments, she belonged to a class of women from the 1930s who continue to serve as an inspiration to me.

My grandmother, Ingeborg (Godelman) Crain (age 91), was a student of Jefferson High, class of 1940 when Ruth Benerito was there as a teacher. Over the years, my grandmother has often talked about Ms. Rogan and all of her accomplishments. My grandmother wants you all to know that "Ms. Rogan" had the reputation of being a wonderful teacher and a good friend to the students. She will be fondly remembered.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Dear Family Members,
I grew up listening to my late mom, Emma Barrus Pepper, also a Newcomb graduate, talk about her good friend, Ruth Rogan, who had invented "wash and wear" fabric. She was truly an inspiration to all girls who wished to take science courses (as one of my sisters did). She now joins all of her friends in her reward and our lives are certainly better for her wonderful life.

May you rest in peace, Ruth. Thank you for your contributions to science and ultimately, to mankind. We made a tribute memorial in your honor: http://www.thememorium.com/Memorials/ruth-benerito

I feel you were partially responsible for allowing me to achieve success in my academic and personal careers. I was fortunate enough to be able to come over with the Rogan girls in the mid 70's both to nightly eat dinner and at times study with Ruth. At that time I was attending dental school at LSU in Lakeview and it was very convenient to come to the Rogan home. I will never forget the good times there and it helped me develop into my present shape. Very much later my wife who is from...

"Aunt" Ruth was my godmother. She and my mother were best friends since their days at Newcomb College. I have wonderful memories of "Aunt" Ruth and
"Uncle" Benny - staying at their home on Marigny, going to football games, going on vacation with them ... I felt like I was a part of their family. I will always remember their love and support.
