Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to the family. Professor Birnbaum was my professor in History of the Jewish People (part 1) in 1985. I have such strong memories of her because she was small but she loomed large in the classroom. She had a wonderful smile, but she was tough! Even at just 18 years old I knew "this is what a college professor is". She was such a memorable, strong woman. She will be missed.

Ruth was a close friend of our family. Articulate and intelligent, I can hear her voice on Dad's Talmud class recordings (docshraga.com)

Ellen....so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a very special woman. So many memories going back to childhood.
She was synonymous with education ...with grace and charm...seeing Mrs. Birnbaum at shul each Shabbat...always a warm greeting and interested in how one was doing.

I had many conversations with Ruth at the Springfield College library when she would visit there. A very elegant lovely lady. I am sure she will be missed. My condolences to her family.

Mrs Birnbaum was my first grade teacher at Hebrew Day school. Fond memories. May her memory be a blessing.

I met Ruth at Springfield College Natatorium. A lovely lady and fine swimmer! Blessings
