Ruth E. Burke

I passed her Maplewood house about 3 weeks ago and it looks the same. You are remembered well and well remembered, Ruth.

I credit Ms. Burke for me having memorized the Periodic Table of elements in eighth grade. Hers was definitely a class to look forwarded to attending. I thoroughly enjoyed her challenges and was proud to be among the first to solve them; especially having been performed manually - sans calculator.
I offer my heartfelt condolences Ruth's sisters, nieces and nephews, and those who consider her family in the world of teaching.
She was not and will not be forgotten.

Ah, I remember Ruth well! I was her PT many years ago. We kept in touch by email after she moved & I even went down there to visit her. We eventually lost touch, but I do think about her often, especially when I pass the house. She was a great patient & a really cool lady. I don't keep up with patients as a rule, but she was different. I hope you all have wonderful memories of her too. R.I.P, Ruth.

Miss Burke was one of the most motivating educators I had while a student at North Junior High School during the late ‘60’s in Bloomfield. I’ve never forgotten her or the science lessons she prepared. May she rest in eternal peace knowing her legacy has been passed on to generations of former students.
