Ruth Burns Obituary

Ruth B. Burns, a resident of Metairie, Louisiana, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2021. She was 82 years of age. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Burns; her parents, John and Aurora Holland Bozant; and brothers, Joseph and Gabriel Bozant. Ruth is survived by her sister, Constance Daigrepont (Melvin); three stepchildren, Linda Mourra (Mike), Rose Green, and Billy Burns (Rhonda); 14 nieces and nephews, Karen Callahan (Tom), Alan Daigrepont, Denise Roy, Darryl Daigrepont (Kelly), Kyle Daigrepont (Mark), Diane Heintzen (Alan), Kevin Bozant, JoEllen Chassaniol (Ron), Randy Bozant, Robert Bozant (Kathy), Cheryl Hallal (Billy), Mark Bozant (Kim), Bruce Bozant (Doreen), and Paul Bozant (Heather). Ruth had a long standing career with Whitney Bank. She was an avid Tulane fan, involved with the French Quarter Festival, and passionate about the work done by Hail Mary Animal Rescue. Ruth was loved by many friends and family, and will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Ruth's Life at the Event Center at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ruth's memory to Hail Mary Animal Rescue, www.hailmaryrescue.com, or by mail, 259 School Ln., Thibodeaux, LA 70301.
