I was Ruth´s hairdresser for many years, she would come to my home every Friday mornings, when she moved I missed our great conversations. Ruth was so kind and caring when she found out that my granddaughter was having difficulties in reading (she was in elementary school at the time) She asked if she could help her. Every week I would take her to her home , first she would visit with Homer and talk about his flowers and then Ruth would work with her, this went on for a couple of years. To...

I knew Ruth when my children were at Garnett and met her again years later when I was involved with Fairview Park Meals on Wheels. She and Homer were so helpful and dedicated to serving our seniors.

Ruth was as kind and considerate a person as I have known. She brought all that and so much more to her passionate vocation as a reading teacher. We shared an office at Garnett Elementary School for many years. Her smile, positive attitude, and unconditional regard for each child she taught made each day in her presence a joy.
