Memorial services for Mrs. Ruth Cooper will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Bolton Chapel of Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thacker and Reverend Kenneth Hyde officiating.

The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bolton Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Cooper, 92, of Alexandria passed from this life, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her residence.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. During her working life, she worked in children's ministry for 35 years in several states. While in children's ministry she met her husband, Ron, she had a puppet ministry and he performed magic tricks with the children. Ruth loved going on cruises with Ron and spending time with her grandchildren, they enjoyed baking, playing games, and coloring with them and created a special balloon game that became a family tradition. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Siers Hunter; brothers, Eugene and Donald Hunter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 21 years, Ron Cooper; children, Joyce Crooks and husband, Raymon, Scott Cooper and wife, Sheila, Leslie Ann Puckette and husband, John; sisters, Phyllis Moore and Dorothy Duvall; grandchildren, Joyce's children, Corinn, David, Rachel, Daniel, Hannah, Matthew, Seth, Sara and Devan, Joyce's grandchildren, Joel Michael, Jaclyn Rain and Brandon, Leslie's children, Joel and Leah, Scott's children, Kyle, Brandon and Austin.
