Sis. Ruth Bank Dawson was born into this world of Yahweh on July 18, 1925 to the late Mr. Will Banks and Mrs. Avery Mae Martin Banks.
Born in Jefferson County, Alabama, she was the youngest of three girls and one younger brother.
She attended the Birmingham Public School System. She was employed as a practical nurse with the Clark Family for many years.
She always loved helping people, even in death as an organ donor. She also loved gardening, sewing and animals.
She was married to the late John Ben Dawson. She had three children, Avery L. Thomas Smith, Roland Thomas, Jr., and Tommy Lee Dawson.
Sis. Ruth Banks Dawson transitioned on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband the late John B. Dawson, her sons, Tommy Lee Dawson and Roland Thomas, Jr., her sister, Elder Nellie Mae Jones and brother, Reverend William L. Banks.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Mrs. Avery L. Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; one endearing sister, Mrs. Mildred Garrett, seven grandchildren, Joseph Smith, Jr., Stacey Bacon (Carl); TaDarious Dawson, Trevell Dawson, Christopher Dawson, Rhoda Ann Thomas, Roland Thomas III, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and the Assembly of Divine Reality Family.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth. She will always be Aunt Ruth to me. To the Banks/ Garrett and Smith Family you have my deepest sympathy. I won't forget the many talks and laughs she and I shared. I will cherish all my memories of her. May Yahweh give the Families strength and comfort during this trying time.
