My mother, Irene Winterberg, was Ruth Edelman's social secretary for many years. She always told me what a pleasure it was to work with Ruth, how smart she was, how committed, and how dedicated to the causes in which she believed. While taking his parents' enterprise from strength to strength he never loses his gift for being a friend to his friends when they most need that gift.
