Not sure what to say?

To the Edelman family:
My mother, Irene Winterberg, was Ruth Edelman's social secretary for many years. She always told me what a pleasure it was to work with Ruth, how smart she was, how committed, and how dedicated to the causes in which she believed. I had the pleasure of meeting Ruth a few times, and she was totally charming! Her death is a real loss to the Chicago community in so many ways - particularly to the many charities she supported. I just wanted to add my own note of...

I had the pleasure of working with Ruth during the 1970's. She was a great asset to the Edelman firm and a lovely person.

"Mrs Edelman" as we knew her growing up in Chicago was an elegant engaging woman. My first memories are from kindergarden! As I reacquainted with her as an adult friend of the family, her kind, gracious and witty exchanges with my (foreign) wife and her love of her family reinforced my childhood memories of a wonderful beautiful women full of life. She had good innings as the British say, and has left behind an enviable legacy in both family and deeds. She will be missed but is happily...

I wish to extend my condolences to the Edelman family. May the God of tender mercies and of all comfort be with you during this time of grief and sorrow.

My deep sympathy for the loss of your wonderful mother. The matriarch who carried love and strength in equal measure.
Kate Berg

In the words of the Book of the prophet Daniel, “Those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.” May it be so.

To the Family of Ruth Edelman:
First, my sincere expressions of sympathy to all of you on her passing. It was my honor and pleasure to know both your parents for over 25 years, when I was a neighbor across the street. I always admired your Mother for her graciousness, impeccable presence, keen mind on various subjects, straight forward style, and her generosity of spirit to the cultural community and to those who worked with persons suffering from depression. In our conversations over the...

Ruth, always beautiful, elegant, gracious, and smart -- You set a standard for every one of us. Your passing leaves a void in our city and our hearts.

God blessed Ruth and allowed Her to die a good old age. May you find comfort in knowing Ruth is in God's memory and is no longer suffering. Sarah Watson J.W. Ohio
