Ruth Ann (Gowins) Fouts

86, of Riverside, passed away late Wednesday evening of April 28, 2021 at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover. She was born in Uhrichsville on Jan. 15, 1935 to the late Frank W. and Ruth (Bridgeman) Gowins. She graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1952 and then married the late Floyd Fouts on Oct. 2, 1955, with whom she spent forty-four years with before his death in January of 1995. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Mary, and five brothers, John, Charles, Bill, Frank, and Jim Gowins. Ruth was a cook for Indian Valley Schools for twenty-one years before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and baking cakes for weddings, graduations, and special occasions. Ruth was a member of the Newport Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Steve (Bev) Fouts of Frankfort Ky., Roger (Companion Steven Grabner) Fouts of Columbus, and Daniel (Beth) Fouts of Gnadenhutten; three grandchildren, Jacob (Tessa) Fouts, Danielle (Terry) Fouts- Robinson, and Brittany (Jeremy) Engstrom; nine great-grandchildren, Brynna, Scarlett, Emerson, Gavin, Gage, Garrity, Ryleigh, Delaney, and Jeremy; in-laws, Mille Gowins, Ronnie Fouts, Jane Dinger, Norma Phillips and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N. Walnut Street, 44629 on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 1 p.m. Pastor Aaron Linard will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.kochfhgnaden.com.
