Not sure what to say?

Jan - Just yesterday I was thinking about your mom as I sharpened my pencils getting ready for the day. Your mom ALWAYS had sharp pencils when she was writing in our Steno-pads we brought to our lessons. I loved watching her writing in her beautiful cursive what I was to work on that week. I think it was the beginning of my obsession of sharp pencils. I know it sounds silly, but the memory popped out of nowhere. I KNOW your mom knew when I hadn't practiced, but she never said a word. ...

I hadn't seen Ruth for some time, but was always glad when I ran into her. She was a fine pianist, an excellent and respected teacher, and lovely lady. I add my condolences to her family.

Jan and Doug, you know how much I loved your mom, and coming to your house for lessons. She gave me the lifelong gift of music. I know how much you will miss her. Love you, Jan...

We are so sorry for the passing of your mother Ruth. We alway had a great time double dating with her and Mort. She will be remembered always in our minds.

"Mrs. Freeman" as I knew her as a middle school student taking piano lessons was so very gracious with students like me who didn't practice very well, but still loved to take her lessons. To this day, I still enjoy piano, and often think of her when I walk by the house on Terwilliger. She will be missed.

Sorry I can't be with you. Ruthie was always my favorite cousin. We grew up to-gether. Love Rita Jaffe Loren
