GATZEMEYER, Ruth B. - Of Flint, age 86, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk., Jr. officiating. Burial in Davison Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Calvary Presbyterian Church. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday, 12Noon-8PM Wednesday and 10AM Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Ruth was born in Flint, Michigan on August 24, 1920 and was the daughter of George and Pearl Littell. She married Jerome Gatzemeyer on January 13, 1940 in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a member of Parkland Presbyterian Church until it closed and was a current member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gatzemeyer was a past member of Temple Shrine No. 28 W.S. of J. Surviving are her children, Jerry (Charlene) Gatzemeyer, Dale (Barbara) Gatzemeyer and Vicki (John) Wiltz; grandchildren, Shawn (Kara) Gatzemeyer, Chad Gatzemeyer, Todd (Julie) Gatzemeyer, Michael, Lauren and Andrew Wiltz; great-grandson, Jackson Gatzemeyer; great-granddaughter, MacKinzie Gatzemeyer; brother-in-law, Gerald Gutzemeyer; sisters-in-law, Louise Littell and Audrey Fox; special friends, Ophelia Polovina, Genieve Barhitte and Tom Strahley; many nieces, nephews and very special long time friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Littell and sisters, Roma Moriarity, Bernice Smith and Dorothy Mosher.
