Ruth M. Greene

Surrounded by her loving family, Ruth passed peacefully on May 26, 2022, at the age of 99. (nee Sweeney). Lifelong resident of Gloucester City. Loving wife of the late Herbert I. Greene. Loving mother of Susan Vittorelli, Larry Greene, Ruthanne Greene, the late Michael Greene and the late Stephen Greene (surviving Cassie). Cherished grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 16. Predeceased by her siblings, Emmaline Bell, Gertrude McCormick and Thomas “Buddy” Sweeney. Beloved mother-in-law of Cassie Flood Greene, Marie Leafey DeVone and the late Gene C. Vittorelli. Beloved aunt of Mary Ann & Jeff Combs, Judy Haney Connors, Joann Allison, Helen Duffy and the late Emma Burt. Also survived by her longtime friend and hairdresser Diane Kahler and devoted caregiver Jennifer Gerber.

Ruth was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic class of 1940. She was a lifelong faithful, devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing of Wednesday morning, June 1st from 9:30 to 11:15 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM in the church. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
