Not sure what to say?

Although I didn't know Dr. Gross, I was touched to see that Tina Oliver was her partner of 40 years-- on this my 30th anniversary with my partner. I'm a librarian at SUMC. Best wishes from afar. Dick

Dear Gary: With all that has been going on since your mother passed away, I don't know if I told you how very sorry I am for your loss. When she and Tina lived here in Lafayette, she was always sweet and gracious to all of us. The coversations we did have told of a very full and remarkable life. She was quite a woman. I do hope that your good memories stay with you. Please know that we loved Toby. Please take care of you and yours and call when you get a chance. Hopefully, all will be...

Gary: Toby was one grand lady, who inspired many people over her long and wonderful life. I will miss my calls with her, her candid and sometimes blunt appraisals of politics that we shared, and her terrific laughter at so many things. When I worked with her at Stanford, she helped me get over my fear of public speaking and mentored me in many ways that have served me well over the years. I hope you are comforted knowing how many others miss her as well.

Dear Gary,

I was saddened to read of your mom's death. I have the most wonderful memories of her from our childhood. She seemed so strong. I saw her last in a Stanford hospital room in the late '70's, where she was visiting my mom, who was herself dying of cancer. Toby was very giving with my mom, who was not always easy to give to.

I've tried unsuccesfully to locate you via Google, and I hope that, when it feels comfortable, you will find a moment to write to the email address...

Gary & Lisa,
Please except our deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you continue to do Gods will in your service to those aflicted with cancer.

Dear Gary,

Cris joins me in expressing our sincere condolences on the recent death of your Mother. She was evidently a marvelous person, and a
wonderful physician.

With warm regards to you and Lisa,

Cris and Joe Selman

I had the privilege and pleasure of knowing and working with Toby Gross during her tenure at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. We were both much interested in hereditary anemias, she of children and I of adults. Her departure from New York to California was a major loss. She will be well remembered.

Gary & Lisa,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at the loss of your Mother. May God grant you peace and comfort. Love & Prayers Carolyn Sissom
