Ruth Ann Hartmann

I remember Sister Ruth Ann vividly from my years as a student at St. Monica elementary school. It was precisely her love of the English language (grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.) that has led to my life long love of writing.

I also fondly remember her classroom races geared at teaching enthusiasm in the diagramming of sentences and using words to create poetry that reflected shapes...I think they were called concrete poems.
