Ruth Heisler

 Thanks to the many family members and friends who sent thoughtful and caring letters and emails in memory of Ruth.  Please feel free to submit additional thoughts and comments -- which are much appreciated by all her children.

We are so very sad to hear that your Mom has passed on. I saw her for a flash of a visit while in Washington this spring, and I'm so glad I did. We all think of her as a true individual, one who lived her life according to her own values and desires. She was a warm and wonderful cousin, never to be forgotten.

Your Mom was such a wonderful woman. I was saying to my Phyllis that I think she really enjoyed her life -- she always seemed to greet everyone with that warmth that was so genuine. And she was so smart and funny without any pretension or airs. She had that quality of being amused by the world. After I got the news I sat down with that book of photos your Phyllis assembled of our families. Your Mom was such a beauty. So I am at a loss for words except to tell you that I think we were...

Ruth's passing has left me with a deep feeling of loss. She was a warm, witty, generous soul who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. I'd like to believe that she is with her beloved Alex in some spiritual way. Ruth and Alex left three wonderful children so their legacy will continue. My deepest sympathy and love to all.
