Wow, she passed away so close to the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, where her son Bruce was lost at see...R.I.P. both of them.

I learned so much tonight reflecting on the Edmund Fitzgerald. My dad worked for Republic Steel and would see EF come and go when I was a young child out of Cleveland. We are huge fans of Gordon Lightfoot too. Now your mom has moved me; I can´t believe how strong her presence was this evening as I looked into more about Bruce and the crew. Then the irony of the anniversary of her passing as well. Prayers to the family. She did as every mom would to keep her son´s memory alive. I am so glad to...

I had the privilege of being a neighbor to this lovely lady for many years. We stood at the fence and talked for hours on many occasions. I thought of her often since she moved away. She will be missed.

Ruth was a tower of strength for many following the Fitzgerald disaster..

I too ,met Ruth when working in the antiques business many years ago. She was so sweet & always had a kind word & truly cared about others. She adored her son & while sad talking about him,she beamed with pride as well. GOD BLESS her & may she find her joy in Heaven with her beloved family. Fondly, Carol Osborne

We know Ruth from working together at Williams House Antiques starting 20+ years ago. Ruth was always a sweet, kind soul, more interested in the other person than in herself. She was a private person and an optimist, rarely mentioning her troubles, be it her health issues or the losses in her life. She loved her family dearly. I find it ironic that she passed away 1 day shy of the 40th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald and the loss of her beloved son Bruce. It's comforting...
