Not sure what to say?

I loved Mrs Jacobus! I took every class I could from her from sewing to home ec to art. She was probably my favorite teacher of all time. I still have things I made in her class and use the skills I learned often. I attended BHS from 1970-1974. Thank you for sharing your mother.

Ahh, an unforgettable soul from golden days in Spindt Hall! Gracious, compassionate, always interested (and/or concerned,) and willing to share her amazing gifts. Thank you, Mrs. J.! ...What a life! What a lovely light she leaves behind. I imagine she´s working on something fabulous in the light beyond the stars...

I was a 7th grade student at Golden State Junior High when she was Miss Mazman and Mr. Jacobus was the PE teacher. She was so wonderful and good to the students. I still remember her very well and with good thoughts. We would hang out in her classroom. She was great!

I had the honor of being one of Mrs. Jacobus students at BHS. She was a guide and encouraged all of us to explore as if art was a journey of sorts. What a wonderful person and teacher.

I adored sweet Ruth so much. My sincerest condolences. Ruth to me was the sweetest and kindest woman I have ever known. Such kind heart full of love.

Ruth and my mother, Ruth Hunter Hindman were friends and bridge playing enthusiasts since the 60´s I have fond memories of the bridge parties in our living room with the two Ruth´s laughing while contemplating their next play. I would grow up to join Ruth as a teacher at Bakersfield High School where she was highly respected by staff and students. Kind, thoughtful, gracious...Ruth Jacobus we will miss you

Thank you so much for sharing your art with me and all of us. You were an amazing teacher, a gentle soul, and wonderful person. I always looked forward to your classes. You are missed and will never be forgotten. Thank you.

Mrs. Jacobus, could never say Ruth, was a very special person in our lives. She allowed the first step between Karen and myself when I asked her if I could sit by Karen halfway through the year. She said OK but don't get too distracted. I did! and that was 52 years ago.
