Our deepest condolences to the family. We pray that God continues to strengthen and comfort the family during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to know that Ruth has passed. Many years ago, Ruth was my dissertation advisor at the University of Virginia, and we became friends. I will always treasure the memories of us sitting on the University Lawn near the Rotunda on sunny days and discussing literature. Today Ruth would be 89. Every year on this day, I sent her a birthday wish, but today I pray for her. Knowing Ruth and being her friend is one of the best things that ever happened to me. She was a woman of...
