I am deeply saddened to know that Ruth has passed. Many years ago, Ruth was my dissertation advisor at the University of Virginia, and we became friends. I will always treasure the memories of us sitting on the University Lawn near the Rotunda on sunny days and discussing literature. Today Ruth would be 89.
