Such fond childhood memories of Ruth. Always so friendly and welcoming to us younger kids, yet not someone you wanted to misbehave around. A warm authority figure. I'm not at all surprised to learn she became an excellent teacher; betting her students loved her. The Kaufman house, lake cottage and entire family were very important positives to my formative years. Sincerest condolences to Charlie, Bob, Rita and their families. Joe McCarty Naperville, IL

I just heard about Ruth and John and their passings today. My heart is so heavy hearing about this huge loss of two beautiful people. But on the other hand, my heart is so full of fond memories of their laughter, fun times at our bowling nights on the teacher league and sharing funny stories about school moments. We had a special teaching and Toledo/Perrysburg connection that was fun to have way "up North." I share my deepest sympathy with all those who crossed paths and loved John and Ruth.
