Read MoreRuth was my friend and athletic director at Woodward HS. She gave her complete support to my wife and I as coaches. She was the most diplomatic person that I have ever known. With her support, I started the Woodward Track & Field Relays 47 years ago. I am still holding this meet each April only at a different location. Ruth was one of a kind always supporting and encouraging everyone that she met.

Ruth was a truly compassionate warrior for equity. She was insightful, wise, and generous. She took a chance on me, giving me my first leadership position as a team leader at MLK. It was her encouragement that gave me the confidence to go into administration. A true woman of substance.

Ruth was my gym teacher at CWWoodward. I hated gym but it was bearable with her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and cared for her students. I ended up working at CWW and she became a supportive colleague.
